And Down The Stretch We Come!
Can it be that Christmas is really right around the corner? It’s now officially time to start playing your Christmas tunes and it’s no longer inappropriate to see the Christmas displays in your favorite stores and malls? Oy. It comes along more quickly every. single. year. :)
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and crazy shopping weekend. I sure did - my brother came to visit from Nashville, and the time went by way too quickly. One of the big highlights of my holiday week/end was getting out (I don’t get out near enough) and driving by a shopping center and seeing a BRAND NEW ULTA. Right in my little town! Yippie! Now, why Ulta didn’t include little ol me on their mailing list for announcing this new store is beyond me, apparently everyone else in town got one, but for me it was a big surprise. So I hopped on down there first thing Saturday morning and what a treat it was! So many of my favorite brands are now right here in my backyard. No more working in a trip to Houston to restock my bare Minerals and peruse the newest colors! And, I got a great haircut, by a real hairdresser - for the first time in a year. And she was pretty impressed with my haircutting skills to boot, so I liked her very much (thanks, Tia - I’ll be back soon!).
So Marshall had somewhere to go on Saturday, so I didn’t have too much time to spend, but I sure did enjoy the time I had. The store was a little incomplete - still with some empty shelves, but its nice and big and still chock full of great stuff - both prestige and mass market brands, plus a ton of “gifty” type items. I have never seen so many hair appliances in my life. I can see I will be back there - a lot, and with Mom in tow - as she is more of a drugstore beauty shopper than I am. Now, this is my official *beg* for my beloved Sephora to open a store here in College Station - Ulta will need some competition, no? :)
I have some great gift items I have seen and tried lately, so will try and get them all out to you as quick as I can - you know sometimes I am pretty crummy at the follow through (blame my day job…lol), but I will do my best. I’m going to shut up now so I can carry on into gift land - I do hope you had a wonderful, WONDERFUL Thanksgiving, and that you ate up all your turkey leftovers. If not, its time to throw them in the freezer so you don’t get sick. :)
