Back to Beauty Once Again…
Oooh do I have some catching up to do - it is so hard to get away for a few days - seems like there is 10 times as much work to do when you get back. Anyway, the services are all over, the relatives have gone back home, and I guess life continues on. I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all who have left comments and sent sympathy emails. We are doing just fine over here, and all of your hugs, love and support really helped.
Over the last couple of years that I have been writing about beauty, I have really found that it is not always an easy subject to write about. Lots of people think of beauty as a very superficial thing - which it certainly can be - but it really goes much, much deeper. I have a hard time writing when I am feeling under the weather, when a loved one is feeling under the weather, and during times of strife - during Hurricane Katrina, the Indonesian tsunami and sometimes even after reading Jay’s entries on Parents Behaving Badly. Even after talking to people with self image issues (don’t we all have those to some extent??) it is sometimes hard to write about beauty.
Looking good is important to me, but feeling good about yourself is the basis of beauty. If you don’t feel good, you can’t look good - its as simple as that. So, the point of my message today is if you don’t feel your best, start there. Get rid of the negative influences in your life by either facing them head on or tossing them out the window, if that is what needs to be done. You are a beautiful person - get rid of anything standing in your way.

Christina,
You are so right about negative forces, it’s truly amazing… it’s as if some people can suck up all your energy. I’ve detoxified my life a lot in the last few years and unfortunately I have only my immediate household and mother left standing. Life is too short to deal with people that don’t support you, or as I now call them, dream killers.

[…] After reading Christina’s eBeautydaily post just now, it reminded me of something that really irks me. I heard of a term “dream killers”. It made me realize that I need positive thinking people around me… not those who think nothing is possible. I need and want those that will be supportive of me and my children. […]

“Psychic vampires” is my favorite term for those kinds of people. It makes me so sad to see them having such a big influence on people who are otherwise absolutely wonderful folks that could be everything they wanted to be. Thanks for the comment, and the referral in your blog, Delphine. :) I will be in touch about our other stuff soon.
