beauty-confidential-nadine-haobshOne of my favorite perks of my work in online publishing is receiving early review copies of books - on topics from tech to marketing to beauty. I am a book fanatic, and have really enjoyed the opportunity to review some wonderful books. The latest one that has come into my hands is one that you all should be interested in, Beauty Confidential , by Nadine Haobsh, better known to you all as Jolie in NYC.

Nadine has been blogging a mix of beauty and celebrities at Jolie in NYC for over two years, and is a former beauty editor - and is probably best known as one of the earlier casualties of blogging too much about your work. Be careful ladies! ;) She writes from a very personal “bloggers” point of view - you definitely feel like you know her after you have read her book - and that is something i really enjoyed.

Nadine doesn’t profess to be anything more than she is - a woman who has lived life surrounded by beauty products and information and an obsession with beauty that has led her to try just about anything - and learn from everything. Honestly, I struggled just a little here and there on her opinions on some things, but she and I are from very different beauty backgrounds - I come from the service side of beauty and she comes from editorial. No doubt she and I have had similar experiences in many ways though - some of her stories I related a little too well to! Her book is full of little stories, bad funny experiences, a little bit of how-to and a whole ton of products. If you are a product junkie, you will definitely want to check this book out.

Beauty Confidential is not yet available for purchase, it comes out officially November 1st, but you can preorder it from Amazon - it is a 300 page paperback, and is available for $11.16 right now -regular price is $13.95
