Beauty When You Don’t Feel So Beautiful!
Oh I have not felt so pretty the last two days. I have been up to my elbows in paint, as I am preparing for a documentary shoot in my home next weekend (for more about that, keep an eye on my personal blog). In the process of all of that, my new faucet arrived for my clawfoot tub yesterday (the old one gave up the ghost last week), and I got that all hooked up, so I am ready for a detoxifying bath this evening! I am truly addicted to my bathtub, I almost refuse to take a shower.
There is nothing like a soak in the tub that makes me feel better when I am feeling crummy, whether it be sickly, or tired from the day or just plain old cranky. I love to fill it up with a nice bubble bath, some bath salts, or even some inexpensive shampoo if that is all I have lying around (inexpensive shampoo has additives to make it lather alot). I keep one small, but highly concentrated perfumed candle in the bathroom, just for these days. One of my favorite and most beneficial luxuries is my bath.
I found this advice for livening up your look when you are feeling a little under the weather (from Ultimate-Cosmetics.com):
You have probably noticed that your skin has a tendency to be blotchy whenever you suffer from cold or any other sickness. Over a film of foundation cream dust on pure white talcum powder. This will impart an all-over radiance to your skin. Apply creamy rouge and a vibrant shade of lipstick because this will add color to your face and give you a healthier look.
I am not so sure about it, but anything is worth a try when you are feeling poorly, especially if you must go out in public!
