CNN on Sunburns
CNN ran a Health Minute video clip on sunburns yesterday that is timely and useful. The good stuff from the video clip is to remember to actually cool off your burnt skin to minimize the burn (just like you would do if you burnt your hand on the stove), and aspirin is a great helper as it is an antiinflammatory. Also to note: Blistered skin can be an emergency - see a doctor if it is accompanied by a fever or a bad headache or chills, and be sure to protect your skin while it heals by keeping it out of the sun and do not forget to use a sunscreen next time.

Thanks for the reminder. I remember the last sunburn I had, a few years ago, made my skin itch like the devil for days and days. That on top of the burning pain was unbearable. I’ve been faithful to shade and sunscreen ever since.

I have been cooked SO many times it is ridiculous, and have this luscious scar down my nose to prove it (cancer). Wear Sunscreen. And a hat. ;)
