Dove Skin Vitalizer

If you have read eBeautyDaily for very long, you know that I am a huge fan of beauty gadgets - especially those skin care gadgets. I love my Clairsonic skin care brush to the point that I don’t ever want to be without it, but admittedly, its price keeps it out of the realm of lots of folks. So enter the Dove SkinVitalizer. This is an affordable option for a skin care “brush” that isn’t quite a brush, and is so much more. On a velcro type surface you adhere a Cleansing Pillow, which is a sturdy cottony pad that is full of very nice cleanser. It is dry when you remove it from its packet, but you attach it to the SkinVitalizer, run it briefly under water, then turn it on and vitalize your skin to your hearts content with a rich foamy lather.
There are two sides to the pillow that you can choose from - one is smoother, and one is slightly rougher, in order to get more exfoliation benefit from the gadget. There are also two different cleanser formulas to choose from in cleanser - the Energy Glow and the Exfoliating. Both are great - there is ample, thick lather. I really love these tools partially because I really feel like they do a great job cleaning your skin, but I also feel like the vibrations do some toning of your facial muscles, which can’t be a bad thing, right?
Prior to finding the Holy Grail of skin care brushes, I had tried every other brush type that is on the market - truly. I absolutely despise most of them. Don’t waste your money on the ones that use any form of stick-on foam pad - they are all a waste of money, and cost alot more than this SkinVitalizer. The pads slip off, they are a mess. The Skin Vitalizer pads don’t move, they attach in a sort of velcro-y way. They really do work perfectly and are ergonomically designed to fit your every curve on your face. You can get this brush at your local drugstore at prices around $13, and you can buy the cleansing pads for around $4.50 for 14 of them. I hope you like them as much as I do - please let me know what you think when you try it!

21 opinions for Dove Skin Vitalizer

Hey Christina- I’m not sure if you’ve heard about this, but Dove has recalled this product because a lot of people reported that the pad fell off and their faces were scratched. I’m not sure if that goes for everything that’s on the market now, but I got an e-mail from Dove saying to return the product they sent me, and that they’d replace it for free with a new model. I just wanted to let you know so you wouldn’t hurt yourself. :)

This is the new one, Meg - it is great, no chance for scratching. :)

So that explains why they were on the market like 6 months ago and then just disappeared and now are back out again. Was wondering about that.

Yep, Cheryl - apparently the velcro-y stuff was a little too velcro-y - this one is almost smooth, and it holds that little pillow perfectly. :) Good to see you! :)

Hi Cynthia - if you are finding them for $45, you’re looking in the wrong place. Check here at drugstore.com.

The $45 price on amazon is for a case of pillows. 12 packs in a case x 14 each pack = 168 pillows total. I go through these a lot so with shipping it ended up costing me roughly $50.

Hi
I was wondering is this gentle enough to remove eye makeup?
I have the hardest time with mascara smudge under my eyes.
Thanks,
Karla

this is a great gadget and it will take off blush, eye makeup, and clogged pores. I love mine but not the vibrations. They are to strong and hurt my cheek bones and it also makes my face red but that is because i have very sensitive skin

CJ, is this better than Neu Wave?
I want it to clean my face so I stop blackheads. I’m gonna use it with a sulfar mask and blkhead clearring scrub.
Also, do u think the scrub will tear my skin after beeing buffed by the Dove Sk V ? Thx

I get very hesitant switching facial cleansers because my skin used to be very acne prone, (not anymore) but I get very nervous trying something new…are these pads Non-comedogenic??…

Wow. I am absolutely in LOVE with this. My friends have some of the other brands, ex: Neu Wave. But this one is wayyyyy better. After just one use I felt a major difference in the softness of my skin. It feels like I got back from the spa. I LOVE it. I would tell anyone and everyone to use it. =]

How does this compare to Neutrogena Wave?
Better?
Worse?
