eBeautyDaily’s Best of 2006
Honestly, I can’t believe that we are at the end of the year already. In just a couple of days it will be 2007. Wow. How time flies when you are getting old having fun! ;) Can it really have been a whole year since I made my Best of 2005 list? It just doesn’t seem possible really. I have been thinking and gathering my favorite products from the year for several weeks now, and after much hemming and hawing, I have narrowed it down to ten, so here they are, my 10 favorite things from 2006.
1. Clairisonic Facial Brush This has truly been the miracle answer for my skin problems, putting it easily at the number one spot on my list.
2. Elizabeth Arden Double Density Mascara and Lash Optimizer This is hands down the best mascara I have used. It finds and coats every lash, curls, thickens, lengthens - truly amazing mascara. I did not think twice about repurchasing it.
3. bareMinerals foundation This is truly my favorite. I haven’t been totally in love with a foundation since Borghese’s cream to powder waaaaaaaay back in the 80’s, but this one is “the one.” Foundation perfection.
4. Ahava Stress Melt Butter Salt - this is a pretty new addition, I haven’t talked about it much yet, but what I am finding truly special about this product is its healing abilities. I always have scratches all over me from kittens, brush and gosh knows what else (I am a ranchy girl, you know - and a bit of a klutz…lol), and using this body butter, which contains dead sea salts, has healed me up and kept me amazingly soft. This is something that is never leaving my bath again. ;)
5. Cake beauty brown sugar scrub - Ok, so this doesn’t heal so much, but it is one amazing smelling scrub and will absolutely scrub the heck out of your skin and leave behind some absolutely decadent oils. This is the one minute manicure for your entire body. Luscious!
6. Cibu Pho Finish Hairspray - This is my favorite hairspray, hands down. Again, it has been a long time since I have loved a hairspray, but this one is perfect - from the scent down to the hold. It works for keeping my thick hair from flying all over the place on a daily basis, and it holds an up-do with all the strength it needs.
7. Armani Code - Definitely my fragrance of the year. It took just a bit to grow on me, but I am totally in love. I am waiting patiently for the body cream to hit the stores, but am a faithful user of the lotion, the bath gel and the perfume. Gorgeous bottle, gorgeous scent. Love. ;)
8. Smashbox cream eye liner I haven’t spoken of this as much as I should have either - I will remedy that in the new year. This eyeliner is marvelous. I graduated from the palette, which I love, to the individual pots - these are beautiful colors, and have staying power like nobody’s business.
9. Yuki Sharoni Conditioner - I love Yuki. I wish he was more available. And his conditioner is not easy to find either, but is amazing. Ha ha! ;)
10. GoSmile - My fave tooth whitener, hands down. It is convenient, non-irritating to my gums, freshens my breath and does an amazing job whitening. Well worth the slightly greater cost.
I hope you all have had a wonderful year, I want to thank you for your part in making 2006 truly amazing for me. Thanks so much for reading, for participating, and for your advice, and I wish for you all an amazing 2007.

Great list. I love GoSmile too, I can never be without it. I’ve had that Clarisonic brush on my list for a while of things I really need to get, but I’m moving it up. Happy New Year!

This is a great list!
My lemmings are: the clairsonic brush, Go Smile( I have never tried it!),Yuki conditioner(because I need to work on my hair this year) and that Ahava butter.
Armani code was a great fragrance release in 2006. I was really impressed with the quality of their bath products. Exceptional!

What a great list — there are a couple of things I’d been wondering about (Go Smile and Yuki haircare, for instance) and others that I’d never known about. And now I must try them all! :)

The GoSmiles are my fave, too - they’re a little bit spendier than the strips, but so much easier to work with.
I actually prefer the Code bath/body products to the edp. Weird - usually I only like the ancillary products if I have fallen head over heels with the original fragrance, but it’s the other way around with Code.
Have a happy New Year, Christina!

As much as I love Bare Minerals, I have to say that Everyday Minerals work even better . . . and cost much less.

Great list, and lots of things I have yet to try! Definitely want to try the Ahava - who can’t use a little healing? And we agree on Armani Code. Thanks for pointing out Elizabeth Arden’s mascara - can’t remember the last time I shopped there.

I got onto the BE bandwagon this year, didn’t understand what all the fuss was about but now that I use it, it’s just so easy and quick to do. I loved the Yuki stuff too, it smelled amazing. Great list! :)
