Fall Makeup Trends: Shimmer Powders

InStyle Magazine reports that once again, shimmery powders and moist looking skin (rather than heavily powdered) are important for a current look this Fall.

Dewy skin is in, but without the right technique it’s easy to end up looking as shiny as a disco ball. “The key is precision,” says Estée Lauder makeup artist Paul Starr. To give Scarlett Johansson a “subtle, glowing effect” for a recent photo shoot, he used a shimmery powder with three different shades (left). He dotted the palest shade on the inner corner of eyes with a tiny eyeliner brush. He then used a big, fluffy brush to sweep all three shades together, applying them in a crescent shape around cheekbones, starting at the end of the brow and ending under the pupil.
