Finally! A Stylish and Uber-functional Bluetooth Earpice - The FlaminGo!
I have resisted making a huge rant about those $&%#$%*& Motorola Bluetooth earpieces that everyone wears about town, as if they are the hottest new fashion accessory. When we went to New Orleans this summer, I noticed that every other shopper on Canal Street was sporting one, the numbers got too high to count. And since then, I see them and just shake my head. Yes, you are cool, you get so many important calls that you must wear that ugly thing over your ear at all times. We are all duly impressed with you. Now, maybe I am just jealous because I despise my Motorola headset, the thing always feels like it is about to fall off my ear. I hate it, spent a small fortune on the thing, and on top of that, it is crackly and if I don’t keep my phone fairly close to it (I have been known to clip my phone to my bra - sexy!), its unusable.
So, I found this FAB new Bluetooth device (you knew I was going to say that, didn’t you?)! This is the FlaminGo - and in pink (Paris Pink) of all things! This device is pretty much perfect in my eyes and solves all of my issues with Bluetooth headsets. This one:

Is cute - it comes in 8 colors, from red to white to black - and it is small and unobtrusive looking.

Is comfortable - it comes with 6 different ear fittings, it sits right inside your ear (rather than poking down into your eardrum or hooking over your ear), is secure and doesn’t interfere with your earrings for the most part. It also comes with a lanyard so you can carry it around your neck if you don’t feel like an earpiece is the ultimate fashion accessory (even though this one is not bad at all!).

It Works! No crackling, even when my phone is a normal distance away from it.
Now, the rub (there is always a rub, eh?) seems to be that it is not yet easy to find in the U.S.. It is, however, a big hit in the rest of the world, and has a new distributor here - you should be able to find it soon at http://www.smartfone.com (although the site does not seem to be up yet) or you can contact Nordic Distributing at 888-858-5085 to get one. And tell em I sent you! Impact Wireless in Canada has it (approx. $80 US - a bargain!!), but it is currently sold out. When I get more info on this, I will update this post - but this is bound to be a hot item when it finally gets here, so be watching for it!

Oooh pretty :-) That pink one looks like it might even match my dark pink Razr - the standard Motorola headset is quite a pale pink.

I’d be up for one of these, as I also hate the dreaded Moto Bluetooths. Now if they could just come up with some earbuds for my iPod, life would be good!

Finally, an ear piece I can get on board with! It seems like gadget companies always take a few years before they think of ways to satistfy their female consumers - hey, we’re early adopters too! :)
