Hair Extensions - Part 3 - Clip On Extensions
Clip on extensions are soooooooo hot right now - this is what all the “cool gals” are using, Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, Victoria Beckham, Jessica Simpson, Tara Reid, Nicole Ritchie and gobs of others. There are a great many brands out there to choose from (will begin covering those in the next few days), and they are available in just as many styles - artificial/natural hair, long/short, straight/wavy and in just about as many colors as you can imagine.
Mostly, these clip on extensions consist of a row or two of wefts sewn together, and with clips attached. They come in different sizes and lengths for different areas of your hair. If you are the crazy DIY type - like me - you can make these yourself. Beauty supply stores, like Sally’s, carry the wefts in long strands, as well as the combs, and you can assemble them yourself, it is not that hard to do really. I will show you some photos in upcoming days of how they are put together, but really, they are so inexpensive that you won’t save that much money doing it yourself. The reason I do it is because I need an extra piece or two that didn’t come in the package.
The benefits of clip on extensions are that they are relatively inexpensive, can be done at home, are reusable, and, with a little practice, can be applied so they look totally natural. If you have very thin, fine hair, you might want to enlist the help of a hairdresser, but other than that, all you need is a rat-tail comb (be careful with that!), and some clips to hold your hair out of the way. Very easy stuff. One caveat: Do NOT sleep in them, or your hair will get so tangled up in the combs that you will have to cut them out. Ouch. The details of applying them vary a little bit between brands, so I will leave that for later.
Do you have a favorite brand of hair extensions? I would love to hear about it if you do. I have tried several of them, but would love to know your recommendations for future articles.

I have never tried extensions but I must say they improve Ms. Beckham’s look considerably. Of course, it also helps that she’s not ORANGE! C-ya, C!

I’ve tried a straight ponytail from Tress Allure. It’s very simple to attach with a hidden, built-in clip and looks very natural.
Nice blog you have here!I’ve been reading for a while. Keep up the good work!

I have long been a fan of clip hair extensions. I cannot understand why women are still damaging their hair with these dangerous gles and fusion kits.
I buy my clip extensions from http://www.hairinaminute.com They sell the clip extensions made from Indian Remy human hair. It is really good because i have colored them 3 times and the hair is still strong and pretty. It does not tangle either.
The synthetic goes for around $70 and their Remy human hair is just under $300. I t makes sense because it has lasted me a long time and it looks good

Why deal with the clips? Clip ins aren’t practical at the beach or gym or doing lots of activity. Also, the texture rarely is an exact match to your own. Check out http://www.jaiainc.us. I am a hair extension professional who has secured, by government authentication, the purest and most varied full cuticle virgin hair available in the world. I work with actors and others who are too high-profile to mention. Check out my site and make an appointment. Thanks. Diana

I use clip in extentions nearly everyday, and the BEST brand i have found is called Euronext. They are sold at sallys and the clips are pre-sewn in so you don’t have to do it. They are cut to just the right sizes and the quality of them is amazing. I wouldnt recomend anything else. Although there is a minus, they only come in 14 inch long. But hey, It’s long enough for me, anything longer and your hair will get tangled with will cause a LOT more split ends and damage.

hey i have hair thats a little past my sholder and very thick, but i still want long extensions to add to my bottom layer, so its like a random pop of color. i absolutly hate coloring my hair, so are extensions a good idea, even though i already have enough volume and thickness to deal with?

i’ve had clip in extensions that i bought from sally’s before, and i really didnt like them. personally, i thought they were hard to get in the right way, and i constantly had to brush them out so as they wouldnt be tangled. i sewed my own clips in and everything, and i really dont think it was worth the time and effort i put into it. i’m now looking into sew ins myself because i’ve changed my hair color since my clip ins, and i just really wouldnt prefer to use clip ins again.

wow
alright well go to youtube and just type in clip in hair extensions
also, I SELL HAIR EXTENSIONS
hit me up at chompkayla@yahoo.com
anyways, you don’t have to get them from me, but sally’s has an OKAY range, figure out how long of hair you want, and if you want long gorgeous hair at a low price, get the synthetic, because its a lot lower than normal hair.
sounds shocking but paris hilton’s line is great for that.
now if you want to style the hair you don’t naturally have, get human hair because then you can basically do anything. but mind you, you have to wash it about once a week if you plan on daily wear.
FINE HAIR : not really great if you want length in hair extensions… I’ve tried it, but it didn’t work out that well. thick hair works great with hair extensions.

Hi there,
I bought the Euronext clip on extensions from Sally’s yesterday, and so far I realy like them. I cut my hair short a few weeks ago, and have been missing long hair ever since. I think that if you have med length or long haor already, one pack will do. Mine looks great, but too thin for my liking , so I am going back today to buy another pack. Keep in mind that my hair is sort underneith. I waved them today with a 3 barrel iron, and they turned out great…hope they wash well…we’ll see!
