Here I am in NYC
Yahoo! I haven’t been to NYC since I was about 22 (let’s just call that *a few* years ago). And man, was it ever fun! When I came oh so many years ago, it was for the IBS beauty show, a trade show for cosmetologists. While I would LOVE to come back to that again someday, I am here this week for my very first (and probably only, if Marshall has anything to say about it…lol) Fashion Week. We are staying 2 blocks from Bryant Park, I ambled down there this evening and saw all of the folks getting set up, and marveled at how close we are. I’m not sure honestly how much actual time we will be at the shows, we have so many appointments with reps from beauty companies, but we definitely are going to have some great stuff to show you - lots of beauty and hopefully some fashion thrown in there too.
I can’t wait to have some more time to explore - I forgot how many wonderful places there are in all of these little cubbyholes here in NYC. We are in the heart of the garment district and I had a great time this afternoon cruising through some of the notions shops around here. Gorgeous ribbons, buttons, trims - yeah, I love to sew (but who has time??). I aim to hunt down some fabric stores this week - I loves me a good fabric store, and they are pitifully lacking in College Station. I suspect Marshall would rather see me rooting through raw bolts of fabric than Saks. ;)
I am traveling with my dear friends Teri and Shannon, and our big plan is to take some good videos while we are here. We are going to have all kinds of wonderful opportunities to share with you, so do keep your eyes open. My only hope is that I can drag around all of my cameras/video equipment without falling over from exhaustion. I guess time will tell!
Hope you have had a very happy Wednesday. I am very sad that I’m not getting ready to watch Project Runway (ANOTHER hiatus week), but I guess that will just make it all the better next week. Tick tock, park opens soon! I can’t wait!!

Out ‘O sight, Christina baby, but not out of our hearts. You can take the girl to NY, but you can’t take the Tennessee outta the girl… or something like that. Teach them real beauty, like that you possess.
