Japanese Beauty
This is yet another article about how the Japanese have got it going on in the beauty realm. And they do, no doubt. Leslie Thomas makes some humorous points:
Fashion magazines are saying that the geisha-girl look is in just because the film version of Memoirs of a Geisha is on release. This is stupid. Apart from Nancy Dell’Olio, no one in the West wants to be a geisha, and our big-boned bodies do not allow us to carry off such a dainty look.
We have a lot to learn from the Japanese, but how to make a man a nice cup of tea while wearing clumpy shoes and Marcel Marceau-style make-up is not one of them.
Leslie also gives a mini review on several products from some of my favorite Japanese skin care/cosmetic lines - Shu Uemura, Shiseido, Fresh, RMK, and SK-II.
