MAC’s Newest Collections - Novel Twist and RushMetal

by Christina Jones on July 25th, 2007

I am (tick tock!) waiting for the DHL man to bring my shipment of the MAC Novel Twist eye shadows from Nordie’s big Beauty Exclusives “sale.” They should be here today! In the meantime, I have been playing hard with one of the newest released collection from MAC - RushMetal !

This collection is chock full of those wonderful MAC pigments in the most gorgeous metallics you can imagine. You can use these pigments in a variety of ways, from a wild and crazy artsy look, like MAC is so famous for, or just a really beautiful eye shadow. I also use a giant brush and swoop it onto my shoulders and even have been known to brush it onto my hair before a final once over with the hairspray. This pure pigment can also be worked into your artificial nails and even sprinkled over nail polish and topped off with a topcoat (or mix it in with your topcoat!). There are truly a bazillion things you can do with these pigments, so let your imagination run wild! I am so glad metallic is still in fashion, I really do love it. :)

    Hi,

How do you add it to your nail polish? Should I pour the pigment into the top coat bottle? I’d love to try that nail look for an event I have coming up- I’m just not sure how to do it. Thanks.

You can either pour a little into your polish bottle, or sometimes I will put on a basecoat, then brush a light coat of pigment over that, then top it off with a topcoat. You can put it over color as well, just be sure and let it dry mostly before you do it. Works great!

Looks like MAC is hopping on the loose powder band wagon right along side Mineral Make-up. Sprinkling the loose pigment on nails or adding it to clear polish has been very popular among the mineral make up crowd.
