NY Fashion Week
If you aren’t aware, it is Fashion Week in New York City, the designers showcasing their Fall 2006 collections. The Gods and Goddesses of the Online Fashion World (and I mean that with the utmost respect) in conjunction with Glam.com and PajamasMedia are blogging their hearts out. Live-blogging from the show are the phenomenal bloggers Leslie from Fashiontribes and Julie from Almost Girl. There are really so many interesting things to talk about, and more coming up all of the time, it is difficult to point you in a direction other than to tell you to read all of it if fashion is your thing. If you hate fashion, you might check it out too, the bloggers are reporting all, from the good to the bad to the downright ugly. Check out Glam.com and PajamasMedia as well, who have aggregated feeds from all of their fashion bloggers.
Personally, I stay away from fashion blogging because it is almost a zen experience - or something. Most of what they talk about honestly just goes right over my head. :) I can tell you if I like something (most Betsey Johnson) or I hate something (can’t pick one out of the dozens…lol), no problem, but beyond that, the analysis of couture is much better left to the passionate fashionistas! I hope that doesn’t make me sound like a total idiot, but I guess, being here on the ol’ Texas ranch, where my daily fashion is my yoga pants and a t-shirt or long john shirt depending on the season, fashion has always been just a little beyond me. :)
All of that said, I have become truly addicted to Project Runway this season, it actually made me teary last night. If you watch it, let me know, and tell me why Santino is still there after last night??? I think he must be doing the host. Or the producer, or someone. ;)

I am also a new fan of Project Runway. I didn’t see it last night, tho. The last one I saw was the “garden party” dresses they made. I loved Chloe’s with all the individual leaves glued on-it would be gorgeous in fabric printed like individual rose petals, instead of leaves. I hated Andre’s-it looked like an astro-turf doormat. No woman wants to feel like a doormat! How out of touch with his femininity is he?! LOL. I think he got booted didn’t he? And Daniel won? Daniel is sooo sweet! I LOVE Santino. I don’t care WHO he’s doing! He makes me laugh and he has a beautiful smile and a manly deep voice. ROTFL
I’ll have to catch the missed episode in a repeat this week. BTW, I have never been, nor will I ever be a fashion maven. It surprises me that this show, and What Not to Wear interest me in the slightest. I get teary all the time watching them though. Which is a nice thing. 8-)

Ok, so I guess I should have written “spoiler” at the top of this post. I don’t even want to talk to you about it until you have seen it. LOL But when you have, let me know what you think about Santino’s project. He is a lucky man, that is all I can say. :)
I didn’t see the garden party episode until after I saw last nights episode, and fell asleep before it ended, but I lasted until just before the runway. I just went and looked up the pictures from last week though, and wow - they actually made something out of all of those plants! Really I thought they were all pretty darned impressive, but you’re right, Andrae’s was the worst. The last I saw before I fell asleep, his was in much better shape than anyone elses.
And I am glad I am not the only one getting teary. ha! :)
