Put On Your Makeup and FLY!
This may seem a bit off topic at first, but one thing that makes me feel beautiful is having some control over my life. The kind of control that I am referring to is not control over the people in my life, but control over the small, everyday things in it.
One of my fellow network bloggers, Maria Macalincag, recently wrote in her Housekeeping and Homemaking Blog about FLYlady. I, too, discovered FLYlady several years ago, and I have to say that she has helped me get control of the things in my life that were out of control–things that made me feel bad about myself– like being scatterbrained, not being able to keep my house tidy, having a hard time getting a bill paying system going and just general disorganization. By getting these seemingly small things in order, I feel so much better about myself every day. I have a plan for everyday– I get up and get dressed, put my makeup on, every day, and I cannot tell you how much more beautiful it makes me feel to be free from worrying about things I have left undone in my life.
Are you scatterbrained? Do you feel like you are out of control? These are not beautiful feelings–go see what the FLYlady has to say about them!

Hi Christina. I’m very interesting in reading more about your hair care tips as I have got really thick wavy hair that I try to ‘manage’ by blow-drying or using the straightener on it. Is there a healthier approach to hair care?

I’ve got another hair question for you. I’ve got long fine straight hair. As I’ve gotten older, I notice that my hair looks a little frizzy sometimes, especially after washing it. I don’t blow dry my hair or color it. Why does it do this now? Is it just because I’m getting older?

I was doing good for a while with putting some make-up on every day because it really does perk me off. Been slacking, though. Tomorrow is a new day!

I sure agree with that–it just makes you feel more "together!"

[…] Do you have a routine? I usually do, but when school gets out for a break, it goes up like a trailer in a fire. I hate that. A routine makes me feel so much better about life - because everything gets done which frees me up for things that I love to do, like actually spending time with my kids in the summertime. I have mentioned Flylady before, but she always bears mentioning again, because if you, like me, have no inborn routine instinct, she will tell you how to do it, step by step, and it works. You can look good and have it together every day, you just need to know how to do it, so if that is a problem for you, be sure and check out Flylady. You won’t be sorry, I promise you that!
