Rare Minerals, by Bare Escentuals
Coming up soon is a really interesting product from our favorite bareEscentuals called RareMinerals! This is a nighttime mineral formula, designed to not only give you some light coverage, but to do wonderful things for your skin overnight!!
From Sephora.com:
Let’s face it: We’re not our most beautiful at bedtime (zit cream, zero makeup). RareMinerals Skin Revival Treatment, $60, lets you go to bed feeling beautiful and wake up feeling equally as gorgeous. Top that with its skin-rejuvenating properties and its easy application, and you’ve got yourself the ultimate bedtime companion. Ideal for anyone at any age looking to improve the overall condition of their complexion, RareMinerals Skin Revival Treatment lets you rest assured you’re getting a beautiful night’s sleep.
This product is not yet available at Sephora, but I will let you know as soon as it is! I can’t wait to try it myself!

Make-up for BEDTIME?? That idea is so against my religion. It would have to do miracles on my skin to convert me…lol. Wonder how the pillowcase looks in the morning….

I was wondering the same thing… I would think it would rub off all over your pillow case! It seems like such a waste to wear makeup and look beautiful while you are sleeping and no one will see you! Of course it may be handy if you have an ‘overnight guest’ in your bed with you…
And for $60 I hope it does more than sit there! It ought to get up and do a dance for me too….
Just a thought!

It is really skin care, with a little coverage. :) Should be interesting - I will be sure and give it a try and let you know how it is!! You know my difficult skin will give it a run for its money…

[…] Rare Minerals, by bareEscentuals has been released at Sephora! This is the nighttime skin treatment that I talked about a couple of weeks ago. RareMinerals comes in clear as well as light, medium and tan colors if you need a little extra beauty boost at nighttime. I know some of you commented that why on earth would you need color at nighttime - but I think it is a neat idea. I know I hate it sometimes when I have looked all pretty during the day, then come to bed looking like a hag. LOL I can’t wait to try this, it sounds kind of fun to me, and if it does good things to my skin, then I just don’t see a downside! […]

obviously some of you have never tried bare escentuals. It’s like no make up on earth since it is really made from minerals out of the earth & has no additives, perservitives etc which play havoc with your skin. make up so pure you can sleep in it…& believe me I do a lot…it doesn’t rub off on your pillow case….& my sheets are off white & light beige….my makeup well I wear med tan….can’t wait to get my rare minerals… :^)

Hi kuvs2knit - I can speak for Gail, above - she is the person that convinced me to try bareMinerals in the first place. Great stuff! The concept of sleeping in a color treatment, and a nighttime treatment in powder form anyway is a totally new concept for most of us, but I have to say with your love for it, and the others I have talked to that are really pleased with it, I am more intrigued by the day!

I was on the website and they were posting the results for the clinical trials and said that 80% of women noticed pore reduction, radiant skin etc, I wonder if this is simply the placebo effect in action. For those who are interested, if you go to a Bare Minerals store before April 30th you can preorder the nighttime treatment and get a month’s worth for free and they’ll even ship it to your house. I admit that this was tempting but it really does sound to good to be true. I’ve been using Bare Minerals makeup for years and would recommend it to anyone but I thought I had read somewhere that it is impossible to actually minimize pores. Anyway I’m waiting for some real life feedback so to whomever tries it first I would love some insight.

Hi Tiffany- I have some other comments on another post about rare Minerals from a couple people who have tried it, they are here: http://www.ebeautydaily.com/rareminerals-are-out/
As to your question about pore minimization - I think the basic size of your pores is genetic, but you can certainly do many topical things to help reduce their appearance.

I’ve been using the RareMinerals for two weeks now, and I cannot praise it enough for what it has done for my skin. My pores are smaller, I don’t have blackheads or my adult acne anymore and my fine lines are diminished. It’s even made my dark acne scarring lighter!!! I never would have believed that anything would have worked. I use the “clear” which is slightly tinted and nothing comes off on my ivory pillowcases. It’s nice to have a pretty glow and good looking skin when going to bed…your husband is not going to complain one bit! I have very sensitive skin and just cannot use creams and lotions on my face overnight without breaking out, no matter how expensive the brand, and believe me, I’ve tried things that are in the hundreds, so this is very affordable to me, especially since a light layer goes a long, long way. I’ve worn the makeup for about three years now and you just can’t compare Leslie’s products to anything else on the market. I always get compliments on my skin and people always think I’m younger than I am, but now I may actually not even have to hide under the makeup once I’ve used this for a little while longer! Try it, and you’ll be thrilled!

Ok, Sheila - that about does it for me - sounds like you have all of the skin issues that I do! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with Rare Minerals - it is officially on my wish list. But keep using your foundation - it has that all important sunscreen in it. Don’t forget about that once your skin becomes perfect!! ;)

Me too. Now that I’m working again I can officially add it to my list, too. I’m excited! :)

Thanks Christina, I forgot about the sunscreen, that is an important bonus of Bare Minerals makeup. I think when you and Gail try it, you will not be disappointed and you will find that, although it’s initially a little pricey, it will last sooooo long, like the makeup (I can’t use a blush up in under a year!) because a little amount goes a long way. And it’s cheaper than the doctor!!! I had an appointment to go to the dermatoglogist next week and now I have to cancel it because there’s nothing to show him! My adult acne is under control for the time being. Yay!

Hi Everyone. This is soooo ironic. I placed an order for RareMinerals this morning on sephora.com! I hadn’t read the post until now. I am very excited to try it! I too have sensitive skin. I think make-up for bed time is a fabulous idea. Great for sleep overs, if you know what i mean ladies ;-) I’ll let you now what i think when i try it.

Ah yes, I remember those days, Sam :) But since my hubby is only home on the weekends, it is like having a sleep over. :) Maybe I can get him to squeeze it in the budget from that angle. Did I mention I hate being on a budget???

Hello everyone… I am a BE (Bare Escentuals!) Junkie! I have all the wonderful adult acne breakouts and midlife wrinkles starting… great combo, huh?! I so want to try the RareMinerals but am leary about the price. If any of you have continued to use this product since May, please post an update on how you are doing after using the night time minerals for a couple months. Thanks!

I have been hooked on BE cosmetics for about 4 years…can’t say enough fabulous things!!! I have been suffering w/ moderate acne, on and off, for most of my life but, more so this past year(wedding stress!). Thank God for Bare Escentuals make-up, it’s the only make-up that covers my acne! I purchased Rare Minerals night treatment about 2 weeks ago and the break-outs have ceased and my skin is starting to heal for the first time in a VERY long time!! My skin texture has improved dramatically, much smaller pores and I no longer need a moisterizer at night. I thought that I would have bad skin for my wedding but, it appears that it may be a clear day after all! People, it’s worth the $60…one application is hardly any product. It appears that one jar may last me up to 2-3 months. This truly is a skin treatment…the make-up at bedtime thing, get over it, it’s just a perk(works wonders on the self-esteem)…absolutely does not rub off on your pillow. GO FOR IT, you will not be disappointed!!!

I use BE and love it, though I do notice it wears off on me after a few hours in the T zone. (Am I doing something wrong????) So I have been on the wall about trying rare minerals night treatment because I did not want to spend the money for it not to work OR for it to make matters worse… but after reading what all of you wrote, I am going to spare the change and buy some… If it can help get rid of the pores, adult acne and fine lines, I am sold! And like Shelia wrote in a prior reply EVERYTHING makes me break out! (Or dries my skin to a crisp!!) I hope this works for me! Thanks for the posts!!

Wynter, I’ve been using the Rare Minerals since May, (on my second jar, after almost daily use, by the way!)and my skin has really maintained everything I said previously. I still get an occasional hormonal breakout, but for the most part the acne is under control and the scars are gone. My skin has truly improved. I am an Esthetician student, so I’ve tried alot of things out there, and nothing has worked as good as this (without burning, drying, itching, etc.) so go for it! Buy from somewhere that you can send it back if you don’t like it, like QVC (who also refunds shipping!)that way you have a money back guarantee if it doesn’t work for you. (since everybody’s different). On your T-Zone issue, I use Philosphy’s The Present Clear Powder (the one in the small bottle) on myself and my clients and it really seems to keep the oil and sweat in tact and the mineral makeup on smoothly all day! It’s a small bottle, but a little goes a long way…just use a drop or two. Use this only for T-Zone-it seems to look blotchy if used all over the face. You can buy this at QVC as well. For the rest of the face, I prefer Lauren Hutton’s Matte Moisturizer as a primer. Using a primer under the mineral makeup really helps it STICK. This is one of the few primers that doesn’t have silicone (shiny)in it. You get moisturization and a primer in one. http://www.laurenhutton.com. Hope this helps!

Hey Sheila - thanks so much for the update! I am still loving it as well, but I am not quite as good as you at doing it every night. I have eyeballed Lauren Hutton’s line, and now I think I must give it a try. :)
