Tricks to hide a blemish!

by Christina Jones on November 5th, 2005

This is a great little routine to hide that big blemish that infallibly comes up at the most inopportune time (just before a date, your high school reunion or your annual portrait day–you know!).

From Peter Lamas:

When facing breakouts, the best way to start covering them is to begin by applying an antiseptic stick, like the kind men use when they cut themselves shaving. That will help dry the blemish and kill the bacteria. Second, use Visine, like the kind used on eyes to clear up the redness. Soak the Visine heavily on a small piece of cotton and hold it on the blemish for a minute or longer. This will help reduce the redness. Then apply a drop of Preparation H and allow it to absorb for 3 to 5 minutes. This will take away the swelling. Finally, apply foundation.

If you are lucky enough to have an overnight before your event–apply a light layer of toothpaste over the blemish before you go to bed. This always works wonders for me!

If you have an overnight, it does an amazing job…

Of course, you must consider that this depends on how long your overnights are in NZ—are they 3 hours long, or 19….LOL j/k kiss kiss

Stalk away, Glo–we’re not scared! I was particularly excited about the Visine/blemish connection myself–but I guess that is because the toothpaste thing was old hat for me. LOL :)

I’ll be trying the 3-step antiseptic, visine, Prep H trick the next time I have a ugly blemish pop up. I have used a product by Benefit called Boo-Boo Zap that works wonders.
